Bonnie Lee Black
Bonnie Lee Black is the author of 6 books: 3 award-winning memoirs about her life-changing experiences in Africa; a historical novel, a collection of essays, and a sequel to her first memoir SOMEWHERE CHILD.
Bonnie is an honors graduate of the writing program at Columbia University in New York and holds an MFA from Antioch University in Los Angeles. She was a writer, editor, and caterer in New York City before joining the Peace Corps at the age of 51 and serving for two years in Gabon and Central Africa.She also created an economic development project in Segou, Mali, West Africa.
After returning to the States in 2001, she taught English and Creative Writing at the University of New Mexico for ten years. Now retired and living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, she has been writing a blogpost called The WOW Factor: Words of Wisdom from Wise Older Women, which is read by hundreds of (mostly) women all over the world.
