We Ain't Dead Yet
Lori Dube and Constance Bauer, long time friends, embark on an intimate journey chronicling their deep conversations about life, love, and aging. As her cover picture surely attests, Constance is more "furious" with the aging process and the way women in their third act are ghosted by society, and Lori is more "curious" about how she can lean into and learn from this aging process. In this podcast we will unpack issues that are impacting the hearts and souls of women over 60, as we walk together into the unknown of what lies ahead for us all. We hope you will join us on this journey.
Lyrics to our Theme Song, "Woman," composed by Julia Fortman
You canât break me down, âcause Iâm a woman.
Strong and powerful, just like I should be.
Try to cut me out, Iâd like to see you try.
We may not be young, but weâre still kicking.
Out and having fun, cause lifeâs worth living.
Iâm not sitting downâŠyouâll see me eye to eye.
Iâll be here and relevant âtil the day I die.

Tips for making new friends aren't just for kids! In this fun and friendly episode, Constance and Lori explore the topic of friendship with expert Dr. Eileen Kennedy-Moore. We talk about the importance of friendship, and the value of developing new friendships as we age. We explore the reasons that it might be easier for us as 60-somethings to make friends, than it was when we were younger. Eileen gives concrete tips for how and where to make friends at this stage in life, and explains the role that caretaking and conflict play in establishing and maintaining long-term connections. We delve into that age-old question: are old friends better than new friends? Bonus: 4 of Constance's college friends make cameo appearances to weigh in on this question. Trigger Warning: Get your earplugs out, as Constance and Lori can't resist breaking into friendship-related songs đ€Ł
And donât forget to hang around for our âAfter Thoughtsâ where Lori and Constance unpack the episode and chat about our thoughts on what we heard.
